Social Studies Bazaar

Pine Peace School held its first-ever Social Studies Bazaar on Friday, October 12, 2001. Students in grades 3-6 presented a variety of social studies topics to their peers, teachers, parents, and school throughout the day. During the afternoon, the Bazaar was opened up to the school and community as an Open House where people could walk around and talk to the student-presenters directly about their projects.

Some projects included models, costumes, or food. The topics selected by 3rd and 4th grade students, who worked in small groups, represented Native American tribes of different regions in North America. The 5th grade students selected a U.S. state of interest to them for their project and work independently. The 6th grade students were able to select any person, places, time period, or event of their interest to create a project on and worked independently. The projects represented the culmination of a month's research, planning, and designing by the students.

Here are some pictures of the exciting day!
