Art Matters!

By learning to use our powers of observation we come to know the world, in all its particularity. Whether we become scientists, artists, builders, designers or engineers, we must rely on our skills of observation, creativity and handicraft.

Each child has unique talents and individual learning styles. Art instruction has an important role to play in the education of the whole person. Sensitivity to, and the expression of one’s soul are the fundamental part of the developing child.

In our art curriculum we begin with foundational skills, drawing from life; using line, value, shape, composition and color. We build on these basic skills to go on to block printing, simple batiks and work in three dimensions using paper mache, plaster, clay and found objects.
