Teaching has come to me as a "calling". A combination of my love of children and my personal love of learning have drawn me to this work. Hence, I teach from my instincts. I like to learn who my students are as individuals and who they are as a class. Once this discovery has been made, I am able to personalize my lessons to best interest and intrigue my students. I strive to create a dynamic and stimulating learning environment ~ one that promotes the student's own desires for further knowledge. And my ultimate goal in the learning experience is that my students have FUN while they learn!
In the Spanish program at PPS we have great flexibility in class structure and are able to enjoy a curriculum richly enhanced by interactive learning activities, art and music. The structured library program provides a time where the children can learn through the process of seeking out and acquiring knowledge for themselves as opposed to learning through being taught. I seek to engage and entice them by exposing them to different authors as well as a variety of writing styles and books.
It is my goal that at the end of the school, any child asked about their Library or Spanish experience this year will say " I learned a lot and I had fun!"
